Business Development Manager

Location: United States, Los Angeles (CA), San Diego (CA), or San Francisco (CA)

Permanent - Full time - Home Based

Scope of the role:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) manages clients' satisfaction and encourages repeat business and attracts prospects into becoming new Clients in order to ensure the growth of CROMSOURCE.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
  • Provides input in the development of the marketing plan, promotion materials, mailings and campaigns in order to promote the Company and to make it known to a larger public
  • Follows the development of markets of interest, the behavior of customers and competitors, and changes in the assigned accounts and regions to provide input to the senior management
  • Contacts (including cold calling), meets, and informs Clients and prospects about the Company activities in order to obtain new Clients, project opportunities, a larger market share to ensure the sales objective is met
  • May be responsible for the drafting, finalizations, and shipment of the proposal
  • Prepares Account Plans and is responsible for the management of assigned Clients
  • Advises the team in order to increase the chance of winning the contract
  • Is responsible for the planning, management, and follow up of Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
  • In collaboration with the Proposal Writer, leads the strategy call for preparing proposals and is responsible for the entire RFP process including the final review and shipment to the Client
  • Organizes, participates, and follows up the Bid Defense Meetings
  • Suggests corrective actions wherever necessary in order to guarantee pro-active management of Client satisfaction
  • Keeps IT system up-to-date by ensuring all relevant information is adequately entered into the system
  • Participates in conferences/events and manages the follow up
  • Liaises and works with cross functional colleagues to develop client strategies
  • Participates on regular Business Development calls


Requirements:
  • Higher education in scientific and/or business disciplines
  • At least 2-5 years of experience in CRO/Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industries and in sales functions.
  • Fluent in English and local language(s)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Willingness to Travel- up to 50%
