Our client is a pioneer in Drug Discovery and Development. As the world`s largest R&D spender in the pharmaceutical domain, they work in a vast number of drug discovery & therapeutic areas and are highly recognized internationally. A leader in the field of manufacturing and selling of several drugs with treatment of Cancer. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Global Project Manager – Biomarkers & Translational Technology for a 12-months contract to be based in Basel area.

The Global Project Manager drives biomarker development efforts to enable Biomarkers & Translational Technologies group to improve their business and realize their organizational objectives. Also it is expected to actively contribute to and challenge the definition and development of global biomarker strategy & execution plans, to help Biomarker & Experimental Medicine Leaders to effectively and efficiently deliver on the agreed strategic objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing, maintaining, tracking, and managing a high-quality, integrated plan to execute specific elements of cross-program biomarker strategies;
  • Soliciting cross-functional and senior management input into the design, scope and desired outcomes of each strategic element;
  • Using project knowledge to plan short-, mid-, long-term project plans and identifying interdependencies;
  • Closely and transparently managing the critical path of the biomarker strategy and its scope;
  • Identifying, managing & communicating key project risks and leading risk management strategies;
  • Using strong project and organizational knowledge, leadership and active facilitation to enable effective Biomarker Subteam meetings;
  • Leveraging well developed interpersonal skills to build & maintain positive working relationships with customers and key stakeholders;
  • Managing stakeholder and customer relationships and expectations;
  • Managing, maintaining and continuously improving project management framework, methodology and tools.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant Swiss working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required;
  • BS/MS or equivalent, with 5+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical Drug Development. Project Management and Change Management certifications desired; Certification or expertise in methodologies such as: LEAN / Six Sigma desired;
  • Previous experience in Biomarker or clinical development, particularly in the execution of fluid or genetic biomarker assays, including roles such as Biomarker Operations Leader or Manager, Procurement Specialist, or similar, is a plus;
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills;
  • Ability to work in a global team setting;
  • Overall knowledge of the Drug Development process;
  • Application of logical processes/conceptual thinking/problem analysis & solving;
  • Familiarity with change management approaches, tools, and methodology;
  • Strong facilitation skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills;
  • Ability to work with various levels within the organization;
  • Thorough understanding of the neuroscience biomarker landscape, including internal and external organizational dependencies;
  • Ensures communication is two-way; responds and acts on feedback;
  • Establishes & maintains good working relationships and is co-operative.
