We are looking for a Software Support Engineer to join the Genomics Software Solutions division to support and maintain our next generation of cloud-based clinical bioinformatics solutions. The use of genetic data in routine clinical practice and clinical research is rapidly transforming healthcare - be part of the revolution! You will be part of a fast growing and exciting division of Agilent Genomics whose culture is entrepreneurial, professional, and rooted in teamwork and innovation.

 

You are self-motivated and able to solve complex technological challenges in a collaborative and international environment. You thrive in a fast-paced environment. You have experience with complex enterprise or SaaS software, ideally in a regulated environment, have a passion for quality, and possess strong communications skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides installation, training, and on-site customization and professional services delivery support as needed

  • Handles technical queries from customers regarding use and functionality of products (first-and second-line support)

  • Actively seek to improve genomics software quality by identifying and fixing potential issues.

  • Supports Account managers in attending to customer satisfaction

  • Participates as an active member of the team to provide feedback on product direction and market/customer technical requirements

  • Supports customers in evaluating the products to bring product evaluations to a successful conclusion

  • Operates in a consultative fashion to match customer needs to solutions offered by the company

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in bioinformatics, molecular biology or related fields from an accredited university.

  • Relevant years of industry experience in Life Sciences Industry including NGS.

  • Trained in or past experience with bioinformatics, scripting languages like Python or similar, Linux / Unix -- strong affinity for software

  • Trained in or past experience with supporting cloud-based / SaaS software -- familiarity AWS and deployment environment in cloud services

  • Familiarity with databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL and web services is a plus.

  • Familiarity with array-CGH, Sanger and next-generation sequencing (NGS) within various clinical domains (rare diseases, pathology, reproductive genetics etc.) a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to frequently interact with customers

  • An enthusiastic can-do mentality, and you are a dedicated team-worker and a clear communicator.

  • Entrepreneurial attitude and creativity are important
