Job Details

Hobson Prior are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a medical device organisation on a contract basis in Oxford. Our client is focused on delivering workflow automation solutions that transform how life sciences research is carried out.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of mechanical components of the microfluidic lab-on-a-chip cartridges and associated instrumentation.
  • You will analyse the behaviour of mechanical components, including modelling and simulation as appropriate.
  • Designing and undertaking experiments to evaluate the performance of research prototypes and product components.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2:1 (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from a leading university.
  • You will have relevant industrial experience.
  • Knowledge of microfluidic techniques and technologies.
  • Proficient with Solidworks CAD software, preferably including experience with SolidWorks PDM.
