Job Title: Medical Librarian

Location: Atlanta, GA

Schedule: Part-Time (0.5 FTE)

TalentSource Life Sciences is currently searching for an experienced Medical Librarian to join one of our biotechnology partner companies in Atlanta, GA. This is a part time opportunity, with some flexibility to work from home, where the successful candidate will be working on studies dedicated to one client .

TalentSource is the division of CROMSOURCE dedicated to flexible staffing solutions. Through us, you will have the opportunity to be integrated into a sponsor-led team, whilst having the continuous support from your TalentSource Line Manager who will work closely with you to support your professional development and growth.

The Medical Librarian will be responsible for uploading and maintaining references in the SourceClear Library and to use information retrieval and database maintenance/organization to support Medical Department efforts.

Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Follow all guidance for Veeva Source Clear Public Librarians
  • Receive references from outside agencies and other sources
  • Ensure that references meet criteria for entry to the library are properly names and are in the required PDF format
  • Search the Source Clear library to verify whether the references already exist
  • Ensure that the references are copyright-cleared for internal use/storage by determining their status in the internal database internal resource, or by obtaining permission through the document supplier
  • Upload references to the Source Clear library and complete all metadata, following library governance guidelines
  • Approve references for use
  • Return to originator any references that did not meet entry criteria and inform the originator that those documets must be included as attachments.
  • Receive approved medical response documents from Medical Information Specialists and ensure that they are properly uploaded and maintained.
  • Receive approved conference posters or journal article reprints from Medical Information Specialists and ensure they are properly uploaded and maintained
  • Archive outdated or low-usage documents as requested by Medical Information Specialists
  • Add references to the bibliographic database
  • Obtain documents and copyright permissions utilizing document supplier
  • Assist in departmental metrics reporting on weekly and monthly basis or by ad-hoc report requests
  • Train new Medical Associates on available literature search databases
  • Retrieve references
  • Conduct literature searches


Required qualifications
  • BS or MS in Science, including study in biomedical or medical information/library science
  • Information management training/experience, including literature retrieval and analysis skills
  • Ability to apply specialized knowledge of available medical resources
  • Scientific background in immunology/inflammation, central nervous system (CNS), and/or drug development preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and execute multiple tasks within assigned objectives
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of scientific literature and/or copyright law preferred
  • Proficent in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to adapt to changing business environment.
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook)
