Job Details

Hobson Prior are looking for a Product Development Manager where you will join the Development team at an emerging cancer immunotherapy organisation, who are focused on developing cell-based treatments. This position is on a permanent basis, located in North Lanarkshire.

Job Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for the designing and optimizing of lentiviral plasmids for the efficient delivery and expression of genetic cargo in γδ T cells.
  • Manage establishing a robust in-house process for the GMP manufacture of lentiviral vectors.
  • Support the development of a scalable, GMP-compliant process for the efficient transduction of γδ T cells for the production of cellular therapeutics.
  • Provide improved methods of clinical grade virus purification.
  • Define assays for the Quality Control of lentiviral vectors and liaise to transfer release assays to other departments.
  • Develop SOPs for the production of lentiviral vectors and efficient transduction of γδ T cells.
  • Assure all manufacturing activities are undertaken in accordance with the registered product requirements and to current regulatory and Quality standards.
  • Lead the smooth technical transfer of new processes from Product Development into GMP Manufacture, or of release assays into Quality Control and be fully trained in both the technologies and key process parameters relevant to all new products.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience working in research or biomedical laboratories.
  • An in-depth understanding of recombinant virus production, mammalian cell culture and/or ion exchange chromatography and tangential flow filtration.
  • Extensive knowledge of lentiviral vector design and production and, ideally, proven experience gained in an industrial or GMP manufacturing facility.
  • Familiar with the regulatory landscape surrounding the use of lentivirus in the production of cellular therapeutics, particularly CAR-T.
  • Familiar with GxP procedures, ideally in both lentiviral production and cell therapy contexts.
  • Prior experience in supervising and/or managing a team of experienced Scientists and Senior Scientists to deliver on project milestones.
  • Experience in controlled document preparation.
