Job Details

On behalf of my client, a global organisation based in the Midlands, I am currently seeking a Senior Scientist to join their growing team. This role with be focused within Molecular Biology and supporting Gene Therapy work on site.

The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert to support the development of gene therapy  technology. You will work under minimal supervision and be responsible for the scientific conduct of the project and communicate issues with senior level team members.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform complex laboratory analysis of pharmaceutical products and proficiently uses analytical instrumentation
  • Calculate and analyse data and records data in adherence with SOP's and the industry
  • Act as the project leader on multiple projects, interacting with clients and preparing study protocols, project status reports, final study reports and other project-related technical documents
  • Review / evaluate data and prepare reports and protocols
  • Independently perform method validations, method transfers and analytical testing, including protocol design
  • Communicate data and technical issues to clients
  • Mentor, train and coordinate laboratory activities of other team members and assist in troubleshooting instrument and analytical problems
  • Assist with quality systems and new equipment.
  • Review, interpret, and analyse technical data, ensuring quality and compliance to protocols, methods, SOPs, client criteria and GMP

Desired education & experience includes:

  • PhD in Molecular Biology AND
  • Post-Doctoral experience AND
  • qPCR, RNA analysis, DNA analysis experience
  • Cell culture and cell assay experience
  • Cloning, sequencing, and transfection skills
  • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Time management and project management skills
  • Ability to train junior staff
  • GMP experience would be an advantage (ICH guidelines, USP/EP requirements and EMA/FDA regulations)
