The Company
My client is a global medical device manufacturing company whose plant in Warwickshire is being implemented towards a better automation.
They are looking for a CNC engineer to join their team in this transformation.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the engineering support of the production activities.
These include PRD (prototype), implementation of products to the manufacturing process and the maintenance of production-related processes to a validated state.
They will also work on day to day engineering activities.

Main Duties, in order of importance:
*Ability to read, create and understand component & tool drawings, process the information to identify potential problems and modify accordingly for use.
*Able to set, operate and program 4/5 Axis CNC Turning Centre, Can critically assess the suitability of cutting tool design and simple jigs and fixtures for their intended application, knowledge of machining spherical components and controlling tool and gauge design an advantage
*Has detailed working knowledge of CNC machines (Doosan Lynx / MX range preferred) and any other general manufacturing or production type equipment, like Lapping /Polishing.
*Understands the principles of metrology. Is capable of using standard equipment i.e. Micrometer, vernier, etc. CMM & Roundness machines an advantage
*Can confidently solve problems and work with little supervision,
*Able to maintain accurate records according to business requirements
*Can take on other duties that may be assigned
*Knowledge of UG CAD/CAM packages and Lapping / polishing would be advantageous
*Experience of TPM, 5s, Lean tools and problem solve using TQ tools, i.e. Pareto, 5 Why, RCA, etc
*Understands the basic principles of KPI reporting & Validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ).

*Minimum 2-5 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineering, preferably automation experience in a setting like automotive (Formula 1) or the aeronautics industry
*MGTS certification
*C&G time served or HND in an Engineering type discipline
*Ability to relocate within 15miles from the plant
*Good Proven hands on engineering experience, CNC programming, setting and operator experience, able to set and prove out new products through to first article approval
*Analytical/problem solving, hands on approach, previous working experience within CNC environments is required
*Understanding of TPM and 5's, CNC machines, Cam programming systems, ISO Clean room equipment, good computer & communication skills,
*experience of Daewoo Puma-Multi axis mill /turn type lathe or similar, twin spindles and B axis with live tooling, Fanuc controlled
*Familiarity with lean principles, process fault finding, PFMEA and process validation advantageous
*Familiarity with Word / project / Excel Advanced - pivot tables, experience of macros, bar code scanning data
*experience of CAM packages advantageous
*Experience of automated processes and Experience of Robo drills would be advantageous
