Job Details

Hobson Prior are looking for a Development Manager to provide leadership to the Cellular Immunology teams at an emerging cancer immunotherapy organisation who are focused on developing cell-based treatments. This position is on a permanent basis, located in North Lanarkshire.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating programmes to generate data on fundamental gamma delta T cell biology, with a view to using these learnings to deliver improvements to clinical products.
  • Establishing anti-infection programmes to develop allogeneic and CAR products for viral and pathogenic targets.
  • Training and supervising both experienced and inexperienced members of staff to ensure technical knowledge and competence is communicated effectively.
  • Organising the planning, execution and analysis of scientific investigations and studies.
  • You will organize, interpret, and present results to external collaborators.
  • Accountable for the preparation of documentation, including Development Plans and Reports and SOPs.
  • Ensuring that work is performed in accordance with the Company’s Quality Assurance and Health and Safety policies including the provision of COSHH/BIOCOSHH/Risk assessments.
  • Contributing to a dynamic, exciting culture which embraces teamwork and innovation.
  • Working internally & externally to recognise new opportunities for continual improvement.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified, with a PhD in a life science related subject is essential.
  • A strong background in leading R&D programmes in cellular immunology, with at least 5 years of relevant post-doctoral experience in either an academic or industrial setting and evidence of successful delivery is essential.
  • A good understanding of cell & gene therapies, including an understanding of the progression of candidate products from lab bench to clinical trial is essential.
  • Previous management/supervisory experience is essential.
  • Extensive experience in working with human immune cells, ideally in combination with viral or parasite co-infection models.
  • Significant experience in cell culture and cell-based assays, with the ability to provide technical expertise to team projects.
  • Awareness of GMP regulations surrounding ATMPs.
  • Experience in preparing written documentation, including SOPs, Development Reports & Change Controls.
