Summary:
As part of the Site Start Up Business Unit as the Country Delivery Lead you will primarily be responsible for operational delivery across the county portfolio for country participation through to site start up and ending in site activation and First Patient In supporting the assigned Global SSU Project Delivery lead and country managers. Through a proactive use of country and site metrics from SSU and clinical you will ensure baseline project deliverables are being met to facilitate first patient in projections and increase efficiency in overall project delivery.
Responsibilities:
• To manage projects on a day-to-day basis and take responsibility for their delivery using agile and more formal techniques as appropriate.
• Monitoring of assignments for resourcing to ensure timely efficiency of resource allocation.
• Ensure that all relevant timeline projections/planning is consistent with country intelligence as agreed by the project teams and identify any timelines that are outside of country intelligence and ensure appropriate risk awareness is in place.
• Reviews and confirms the appropriateness of the agreed timelines and has a close collaboration with the project team to ascertain were unrealistic expectations are being set, they will discuss with the assigned Study PDL and country specialist etc.
• Ensure day to day operational delivery oversight by direct interaction with the in country teams and the review of the various dashboards systems.
• Drives delivery and system data updates to ensure operational delivery is occurring and transparent in Syneos Health reporting systems.
• Oversees the escalation process where delivery is being affected and discusses options with the country manager and as required assessment for mitigating risk.
• To use best practice risk management, assessing risks in an informed and considered manner and to plan for the mitigation of these risks.
• Day-to-day liaison with country level resources to ensure planned deliverables is progressing and support delivery through guidance advice.
• Oversight of the data in goBalto and CTMS / Prism – follow up with resource as needed to ensure data compliance – escalate persistent non-compliance to the relevant manager.
• Provides guidance and recommendations to the local teams in collaboration with the Country Manager. For example monitoring quality and providing feedback to Country Managers where additional training may be required.
• Ensure that any EC/CA queries are resolved in a timely manner in the agreed process involving project team /sponsor input, by supporting the process. CDL would liaise with Country Mangers to agree on the best way forward.
• Contact the assigned TMF leads for studies and ensure quality and completeness of TMF documentation in line with Syneos Health guidelines and procedures.
• Oversight through the completion of a country score card, which will be used internally to monitor the oversight and delivery.
• Ensuring that the project is delivered on time, meet`s business & technical requirements and is within the agreed budget.
• To establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
• To understand the high-level technical architecture and be able to facilitate debate and drive decisions on appropriate solutions.
• Strong planning and organizing skills including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously.
Qualifications To succeed in this role you will need the following skills/experience:
• Determination and focus to drive projects through to implementation.
• Excellent communication skills with a capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically both in writing and verbally.
• Good influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to enthuse and inspire multidisciplinary teams and build successful relationships at all levels.
• Good team player, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
• Computer literate, able to quickly and efficiently use a wide range of common Office software including Word, Excel, Project and Power Point).
• Clear decision-making ability with the facility to judge complex situations and assess when to escalate issues.
• Ability to balance conflicting and changing demands through prioritization and a pragmatic approach
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience in a clinical research organization and related contract management or site start-up experience.
• Background in development/management of information systems and process engineering preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations, drug development, and clinical project management procedures.
• Strong presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), MS Project, email, and Internet.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines, delivering high quality work in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrate line management abilities.
• Strong leadership skills; ability to teach/mentor team members.
• Ability to coach employees to reach performance objectives.
• Ability to recognize and take appropriate action when employee performance is not acceptable.
