Regional Account Manager - Gene Therapy - North East / Eastern England

Exciting team build, our client is committed to moving gene therapies into the commercial setting for patients and families devastated by rare neurological genetic diseases. They are looking for outstanding commercial Account Managers with a passion for rare diseases to join this ground-breaking company.

Responsibilities:
* Build/maintain excellent relationships with relevant stakeholders and appropriately fulfil their requests for information and/or expertise
* Function as the main contact person and project leader for all aspects related to supporting gene therapy pathway at treatment centres, neuromuscular (NM) Centres of Excellence and referral centres
* Communicate the benefits of gene therapy to target audiences and collaborate with colleagues to achieve UK commercial goals
* Support NM centres in establishing and developing their referral network
* Map neuromuscular and paediatric accounts and referral patterns to identify relevant customers
* Organize/deliver promotional and educational events with cross functional alignment and in full accordance with compliance regulations
* Support information and education towards early diagnosis/referral
* Implement & manage operational business/account plans within approved budgets
* Act as expert in gene therapy, diagnostic, reimbursement and supply chain questions in the centres
* Facilitate timely feedback to the company regarding account business trends, changes in the therapeutic landscape including competitive insights, industry issues and business opportunities and use this knowledge to further business goals
* Attend meetings and training sessions; be responsible for keeping the acquired scientific knowledge level up to highest standard
* Operate in compliance with all laws, regulations and policies. The Job Holder has the responsibility to train and comply with the SOPs indicated in the SOP training matrix for the respective job.

Requirements:
Experience
* Scientific and/or Business Bachelor degree minimum
* Completed ABPI Representatives exam or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years of experience in field-based key account positions in rare disease indications; neurology or paediatric experience preferred
* Launch experience within rare disease indications and academic hospitals required
* Track record of success in specialized service environments including hospital organizations and financial structures, patient flows to centres of excellence, ordering and reimbursement processes in in- and out-patient care
* Experience with managing large accounts including strategic planning, project management, problem solving and execution
* Broader experience of medical or marketing is desirable

* Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to work hands-on and with a sense of urgency, in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

* Exceptional organizational and time management skills
* Personal resilience to rejection and changes of direction
* Ability to listen, take and give criticism
* Team focus and hands on mentality
* Well-developed ethical business standards and understanding of the PMCPA Code of Practice and its application in a specialized selling environment

Other considerations
* Job holders can expect to be travelling within their territory 60-80% of the time
* A full UK driver's licence is required
* Some overnight stays and occasional travel outside the UK may be required
