Join our growing team and discover your extraordinary potential by working as a Covance Entry Level Statistical Programmer.  Covance is seeking graduates (preferably life science, mathematics, computing related) with a passion for programming to work as entry level Statistical Programmers within our internal late phase full-service group.  In this role you will enjoy a varied role working for different sponsors across several therapeutic areas within phases II-IV.  SAS experience is a bonus but not a requirement (if you have other programming experience) as you will receive on the job training.

Job Primary Functions

  • Provide Statistical Programming service
  • Develop and review SAS programs and output for the management and reporting of clinical trial data including ADaM and client-defined analysis datasets, tables, listings and graphs.
  • Develop programs for data transfers and assist in their review to ensure the data transfer has been produced to specification
  • Review draft and final production runs for project to ensure quality and consistency
  • Ensure quality of personal work
  • Interact with project team members in related discipline e.g. Clinical Data Management., Clinical Operations and Biostatistics
  • Prioritize personal workload to meet specified completion dates
  • Display a positive attitude at all times, promoting and contributing to good team spirit in a professional environment
  • Develop good problem solving skills and a willingness to learn and seek advice from senior Statistical Programming staff
  • Acquire knowledge of other aspects of the work of a Statistical Programmer Analyst under the supervision of the senior Statistical Programming staff
  • Carry out all activities according to Covance SOPs working within the framework of the Quality Management System and to Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

Job Qualifications

  • BSc or BE in a computing, life science, mathematical or statistical subject
  • Knowledge of one or more statistical software packages (SAS® preferred) used to conduct statistical analyses
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute in a team setting
  • Fluent in English language (both verbal and written)
  • Candidates must have the legal authorisation to work in the UK and be able to work office based in Maidenhead, Berkshire
