Reporting to the Antibody Discovery Group PCR Team lead, my client is looking for a Senior Research Associate to form an integral part of their core pipeline team, responsible for the high-throughput and improvement of the single cell sequencing workflows. You will be involved in projects from across the whole pipeline and key to driving forward the progression of projects towards the discovery of lead candidates to be selected for development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform high-throughput single-cell PCR and NGS to recover B-cell repertoire
Drive improvement and validation of technology development projects
In-depth data analysis, visualisation and presentation of large data sets
Implement novel troubleshooting and QC procedures
Perform other methods related to the recovery of antibody DNA from cells
Effective organisation of daily tasks
Co-ordinate work with other members of the Antibody Discovery Group and other teams as required
Maintain accurate, high quality and up-to-date records of all experiments
Summarise and present results in internal meetings
Other duties as may be required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience
Educated to at least BSc or MSc (or equivalent industry experience) in a Biological science with relevant industry experience, or industrial placement year
Hands-on experience in a variety of molecular biology techniques (PCR, DNA cloning/sequencing, gel electrophoresis, etc.) is essential
Strong & demonstrable teamworking experience
Experience in NGS workflow & library preparation is desirable
Previous experience of working in automation is also desirable

Skills and Knowledge
Working knowledge of a variety of core molecular biology techniques
Knowledge of high-throughput, single-cell PCR & NGS
Large data set analysis & analytical techniques
Knowledge or experience of R or Python scripting is highly desirable but not essential
High level of attention to detail
Ability to multi-task & prioritise workload across multiple projects
Excellent communication skills
