Senior Product Development Director - Biological Development

I am currently partnering with an established global leader in Biological innovation who are continuing to pursue a very ambitious drug development strategy on a long-term basis. Now with one of the most influential positions within their fastest growing therapeutic division, we are now searching for a Senior Director Product Development to work out of a key office for the group in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

• Key focus on late-stage development activities which are key for licensing submissions and life-cycle management efforts
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes in such areas which include Cell Culture, Purification and Formulation
• Ensure manufacturing strategies allow the transition from R&D/Clinical Settings to commercial development in Recombinant proteins
• Scale up activities and development of Bioanalytical Assays for product samples
• Support, lead and manage external CMO partners
• Guide and lead process validation activities
• Key leadership and management of global projects which includes budget and departmental resources
• Manage, develop and motivate team members both locally and remotely
• Ensure appropriate structures and systems are in place to ensure key strategies in Product Development provide leadership to R&D activities
• Strategic guidance for future development groups within the Product Development group
• Assess new technologies through due diligence activities to support the ongoing strategy development within Product development
• Work globally to create manufacturing strategies in combination with other global heads
• Promote and champion Product Development activities
• Training and development of key personnel within the group which includes future leaders
• Overall leadership of the Recombinant division through the creation of robust Product development processes

Skills required

• Proven experience working in a leadership function ideally within a multinational Biological group
• Must have a distinct background as a team leader
• Must have key exposure working as a Scientist which includes experimental design, physical characterization, assay development etc.
• Substantial exposure in creating and implement manufacturing processes for Biological Products (ideally Recombinant proteins)
• Have a detailed understanding on GLP, GMP Process validation and scale up activities
• Fluent in English
• Ideally can work office based in Germany
