The Role:

The Business Analyst Intern is responsible for collecting, organising and studying data to provide business insight. The role typically see’s the Business Analyst intern involved with managing, cleansing, abstracting and aggregating data, and applying a range of analytical techniques on that data. The successful candidate will work with a variety of stakeholders in order to assist the wider team make recommendations and propose solutions to improve business performance. The successful applicant will have a basic understanding of data structures, database systems and procedures and an understanding of the range of analytical tools used to undertake different types of analyses.

Successful candidates will be given the opportunity to work in a busy, fast-paced environment within the Chemistry Business Intelligence team. In simple terms, you'll be involved in both Business Analysis and Business Finance related Tasks as well as interfacing with our team SharePoint Page.

For Business Analysis, you will be taking raw data from various systems and using existing tools and software, convert this raw data into industry or client standard formats that enable stakeholders within the business to make decisions and drive actions as required.

For Business Finance related Tasks you will be assisting the Revenue Coordinators across Chemistry and using various systems and existing tools, develop an understanding of this revenue submission process and assist in a multitude of different tasks, including revenue forecast, collection and submission. 

Additionally, you will get help in developing a number of soft skills, for example; communication, scheduling, team-working, quality focus & deadline driven, taking the initiative and proactivity. It's also a great chance to experience a year in an office environment and learn from highly experienced team members.

You will learn the following:

Develop a good understanding of the data lifecycle, including:

What is Data Governance and a Data Management Plan

How to drive Data Quality through systems.

How to create meaningful visual dashboards

A basic understanding of the End to End Business Process (Inc. Revenue)

Good time management and organization skills, the ability to prioritize own work to meet tight deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of work.

Effective communication skills; a co-operative and team orientated approach.

Education / Qualifications

Minimum Criteria:

Be studying for an Undergraduate degree in a Math, Computing or Business Analysis Subject

A willingness to learn,
