Job Details
Our client, an agri-food company, are looking for an Analytical Scientist to join their team!
Reporting to the Research & Development Manager, looking for an individual with a strong interest in Biochemistry and the ability to deliver exceptional analytical science to characterise enzymes with functional benefits in the biofuels and neutraceutical areas.
Responsibilities:
- Providing a support function to the various departments within Biosciences, including Fermentation, Molecular Biology and Applications
- Performing routine analyses of enzyme samples following strict methodologies
- Coordinating with other departments regarding sample testing and communication of results
- Implementing, updating and reviewing lab procedures and updating analytical methods to maintain standards of analysis
- Working across scientific disciplines including molecular biology, bioinformatics, fermentation science and protein purification
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in the field of Analytical Science/Biochemistry
- Working knowledge of enzymology and protein handling
- Post-graduate experience would be desirable
- Experience with aseptic techniques and protocols
- Proficiency with full Office package
- Have good written and verbal skills
