Be based anywhere in the EU.

The Associate Director, Strategic Proposal Development is an essential member of the Strategic Proposal Development Team, responsible for the development, management, and oversight of the Strategic Proposal Development team to ensure preparation of high quality, customer-focused strategic operational strategy for proposals. 

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Develop and maintain interactive training tools to enhance the writing skills of the Strategic Proposal Development team. 
  • Responsible for researching business writing techniques to make improvements in the proposal development process.  Establishes efficient and aligned processes across functions.
  • Develop the strategic writing team with the addition of more members as time and budget allows.
  • Manage and oversee the escalations process.
  • Develop and oversee the Proposal and RFI text libraries to ensure they contain up to date and accurate information and that text is available for future use and adaptation.
  • Lead the cross functional team through the development and delivery of high quality proposal deliverables within prescribed timelines.
  • Proofread and edit and rewrite and revise materials to ensure readability and consistency of message and tone.
  • Ensure operational strategy and budget align with sponsor needs and win strategy as defined by Business Development.
  • Participate in client presentations as required.

 
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND EXPECTED RESULTS:

  • Provide line management support and mentoring to the EU writing team.
  • Set and manage proposal plans, communication plans, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Determine items that are behind schedule, identify barriers to progress, and plan and implement effective and efficient problem-solving and corrective action plans.  
  • Recruit and retain high talent staff to ensure that the writing team is well resourced to meet business requirements.

  
 
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a  Science related or Writing or related field.
  • Extensive experience in strategic proposal writing. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of operational aspects of all phases  of clinical research and experience working with a Contract Research Organization. 
  • Detail and service-oriented, and able to work under pressure. 
  • Excellent writing skills and advanced Microsoft Word skills. 
  • Excellent ability to lead and work in teams.

 
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
•             Exposure to high levels or pressure; intense concentration needed.
•             Must be able to multi-task constantly.
•             Frequent interaction with clients and  associates required.
•             Long, varied hours required occasionally.
•             Travel required on rare occasions, which may be with short notice.
