Drug Safety Scientist - Junior

Hobson Prior is currently seeking a Drug Safety Scientist – Junior role for one of the world’s largest healthcare companies. This client aims to improve access and affordability to pharmaceuticals enabling healthier communities worldwide. This position will support the coordination of safety reporting requirements needed for Marketing Authorisation Holders.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support all internal and external audits and inspections
• Accurate documentation of deviations to process/timelines. Including root cause analysis and documentation of Corrective and Preventive Actions
• Provide safety information to Competent Authorities/Notified Bodies within required time frames
• Receive and process of incoming safety information both internally and externally
• Input of required safety data into the Global Safety Database from spontaneous sources, clinical trials and other solicited sources.
• Involvement with the assessment of incoming information from multiple sources
• Requesting additional information from multiple sources, both internal and external to the company
• Assist in the quality review of data captured in the Global Safety Database  
• Continuous monitoring and assessment of reportability for Individual Case Safety Reports
• Quality review of expedited assessments prior to submission
• Ensuring all assigned training is completed efficiently

• Capability to negotiate and communicate with internal and external customers
• Ability to work effectively as a team member  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work strict timescales, showing affective prioritisation skills

Requirements:

• Degree-level qualification (ideally in life science) or equivalent qualification
• Expertise in pharmaceutical regulations and R&D processes is desirable
• Familiarity with industry principles of drug development and pharmacology

• Global and local SOPs in-depth knowledge
• Expert knowledge of the Global Safety Database and/or expedited reporting modules
• Understanding of key legislation applicable to pharmacovigilance in the UK and Ireland
• Fluent in English language is required
