The Oncology therapeutic group within Covance provides all aspects of medical monitoring for oncology trials both in partnership with sponsor physicians and independently as needed. Our capabilities go much broader and deeper than medical monitoring, and include the ability to generate overall Clinical Development Plans and to specifically convert these strategies into clinical trial designs from first in human (FIH) through pivotal phase III trials. Earlier aspects of oncology drug development, which include translating preclinical findings into the clinic, such as incorporating biomarkers for PK/PD-driven dosing decisions, and for testing predictive markers for potential companion diagnostics for responders in patient enrichment trials are also core strengths of the department. Covance has contributed to the development of 49 of the 50 most significant oncology medicines.
