The Process Excellence Engineer is responsible for planning, coordination, support of the execution and documentation of process characterization studies in the Surface Technology area. This is concretely focusing on studies to enable a global harmonized validation strategy of new finishing technology.
The role requires the development of interactions and partnership with Production, Engineering, R&D, Quality organizations and people from global sites and both local and centralized functions.
Cleaning & Surface Technology
Support planning of process characterization leading to and enabling a globally harmonized efficient validation strategy of new finishing technologies for
- Pre-Cleaning
- Etching/pickling
- Anodizing
- Electropolishing
- Passivation
- Final Rinse and Drying
- Support preparations and execution of the planned studies.
- Document the executed studies in controlled documents
- Report on progress, problems and successes in the global project teams
Quality & Compliance
Adhere to Corporate, Franchise, Statutory, Legislative and Regulatory requirements for GMP, GDP, HSE and Quality.
Organization & Talent Development
Apply Project Execution best practices and principles to enable efficient project progress.Collaboration & Teaming
- Develop collaborative and functional partnerships inside and outside the Modular Finish Program, e.g. quality, Virtual Teams, Sterility Assurance…
- Support collaboration with external and internal business partners to overcome blockages and facilitate integration in this matrixed function
- Maintain a sense of urgency and customer focus within the Surface Technology team.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 1 year Materials Science experience in a Operations, Engineering or Development environment
- Previous project management expertise developing and/or characterizing processes.
- Basic to advanced experience in statistical techniques and evaluations
- Experience in an international environment and in matrixed roles within a Surface Technology field
- Good English skills both in speaking and writing

- Strong influencing skills - good communication skills (written and oral).
- Problem solving skills - To assist in maintaining project progress.
- Decision Making - Required to make decisions on technical and management issues.
- Degree of responsibility - Must be capable of managing a project team.
- Good Planning & Organizing Skills
- Extent of Confidentiality - Discretion is essential in view of contact with outside parties, product/process development strategies & regulatory.
- English is a must, German desirable, any other language an advantage
