Position: Chief Medical Officer

Location: Home based, 1 day per week in England

Company: Small yet established Biotechnology / Drug Delivery

Following a successful meeting with the COO, my team and I are currently partnered with a truly innovative emerging Biotechnology / Drug Delivery company  based in the UK that are looking to expand their Clinical Development team. Our client is developing a rich pipeline of revolutionary delivery technology, which aims to cures a variety of potent unmet medical needs. Furthermore, in the next 12-18 months the company will be initiating a pivotal first-in-human study across infectious diseases. Due to this exciting time for the company, we plan to bring on board a Chief Medical Officer that will have a broad strategic, yet hands on oversight of all of the companies’ development pipeline. Including human proof of concept through to product approval, in order to meet key milestones and bring products to market in compliance with global regulatory, legislative and medical/health requirements.

We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated (MD) with high energy and the ability and drive to develop, accomplish and follow up on different medical projects and tasks due to the companies diverse portfolio. The ideal candidate should have full cycle clinical development experience, ideally within respiratory, infectious disease or other complex therapeutics areas.

Responsibilities (But not limited too):

  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the Company with key opinion leaders at scientific conferences and advisory boards, building and maintaining relationships consistent with commercial and development objectives
  • Develop and update the strategy for the clinical development plan (CDP) according to corporate strategy.
  • Provide extensive clinical & scientific advice into early clinical candidates as well as drug discovery.
  • Orchestrate and manage clinical aspects of regulatory strategies and interactions with Health Authorities.
  • Represent the Company and its programs to external audiences, including the investment, medical and regulatory communities, as well as pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry collaborators/partners.
  • Oversee clinical trials as medical expert
  • In addition to leading and supervising the Clinical Research Department the CMO will have direct line responsibility for the Clinical Operations, Patient Advocacy, Medical Affairs, and Biometrics Departments that will continue to grow.
