Head of Toxicology

We are currently partnering with quite possibly the most exciting Biotech group within the industry at present as they continue to make tremendous strides in several innovative therapy areas. Now due to the expansion of their early phase group, we are now looking for a ‘Head of Toxicology’ whose primary focus would be to drive the Non-Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology group in several innovative and creative projects on a global basis

Key responsibilities

• Global leader for Senior Managers and subject Matter experts within the Non-Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology area
• Key strategist for toxicology studies and provide key expertise internally for key development projects on a global basis
• Leadership of Toxicology studies which are conducted internally and externally
• Functional lead for key activities in the area linked to Protein and gene therapy development
• Key contribution to global Regulatory Affairs submissions
• Key leadership for preclinical development projects
• Oversee and lead toxicology programs from conception to lifecycle management
• Create risk assessments for toxicology projects
• Participate in safety and governance committees
• Budget management
• Identify and support improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency of both the projects and the team
• Continue to develop knowledge for on-going scientific development aspects within the industry
• Overall leadership responsibilities for both the team members globally and key projects within Biological development

Skills required

• Ideally educated to a PhD or MD level in a Life-Science discipline
• Must have an extensive background of 10 years or more in Pharmacology and toxicology within Biological development
• Team Leadership experience is a must
• Extensive Project leadership is required
• Toxicology training or board certified would be preferred
• Strong scientific skills in one or more of the following therapy areas which include: Immunology, Pulmonology, Cardiovascular, Gene therapy, hematology
• Fluent in English
• Can work office based in Germany (relocation support is available)
• Driven, enthusiastic and creative
