Genetics – Director – Gene Therapy Ophthalmology

We have an exciting opportunity available as a Director of Genetics at a cutting edge Biotechnology company based in South East England. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for Genetics to join a company with huge potential in a senior influential position.

Responsibilities

Lead the Genetics strategy

Mine molecular data from all available sources, perform analysis, Identify and classify sequence variants of specific genes of interest. Interpret this data in the context of the clinical indication and disease biology

Work with the translational team to correlate and integrate molecular and clinical data to perform genotype to phenotype analysis

Contribute to the translational strategy, including assay development, designing research and writing crisp protocols

Conducting and/or supervising lab research of other biologists or technicians working on research projects

Research project management for external collaborations

Requirements

Related PHD

Strong background and understanding of current genomics technologies

Experience in translational medicine

Demonstrable statistical skills with experience of analysing large-scale genetic and/or genomic data

Experience designing and leading research projects
