On behalf of my client, we are recruiting for a Life Sciences Technical Sales Specialist.  This position will cover territory of 32 counties.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting existing customers as well as developing new business within the life sciences sector.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Use various customer sales methods to win sales e.g. face to face, account management, new business development, presentations, marketing etc.
  • Achieve sales and margin targets as set by the company.
  • Evaluate customer’s skills, needs and build productive long lasting relationships.
  • Maintain and expand client database within your assigned territory.
  • Maintaining activity & interaction data through the proper use of CRM and Outlook. Reports include weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analysis.
  • Report and provide feedback to management using financial statistical data.
  • Work with Marketing Department to plan, execute and measure success of campaigns.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques
  • Work through customer issues by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management.
  • Manage relationships with instrumentation suppliers, communicating business plans with regular updates.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies as appropriate.
  • Have a willingness to undertake appropriate amounts of travel both within and outside of Ireland.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results, new vendors and competitive developments.
  • To act as a responsible representative of the company and maintain at all times the best interest of the company, its employees, customers and suppliers.

Desired Education & Experience:

  • Science Degree or equivalent qualification, or Science degree with experience working within a Life Sciences role previously.
  • 2 years working in sales or sales support role desirable.
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Practical experience of Life Science Instrumentation and Techniques within the areas of Genomics, Proteomics, Cell Culture or Microbiology desired.
