Our client is a next-generation DNA synthesis company creating solutions for the synthetic biology, enzyme engineering, and pharmaceutical industries. Their enzyme-mediated DNA synthesis platform will enable the rapid and cost-effective production of highly accurate, ultra-long DNA products. They aim to be the key provider of long-length variant DNA and genome libraries for protein, biological pathway, and ultimately genome-scale engineering.
We are seeking protein engineers with significant experience in biomolecule engineering. You will join the growing team developing our client's enzymatic DNA synthesis technology, based in Cambridge. To thrive in this role you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, willing to take on responsibility, and excited to engage with the team to solve important challenges.
Drive internal protein engineering efforts
Play a key role in driving forwards the biochemical aspects of the client's technology
Interface with external synthetic biology vendors
Undertake rigorous QC analysis of generated proteins
Hold a PhD in a relevant field with significant academic or industrial experience
Be familiar with generating diverse DNA libraries for processing with high-throughput automation
Use analytical and biophysical techniques, such as SDS-PAGE, DLS, and thermal melts
Efficiently perform molecular biology tasks, such as cloning
Work closely with a multi-disciplinary scientific team
Engineering of polymerases and other nucleic acid manipulating enzymes
High-throughput molecular biology automation equipment
