Senior Account Manager (Medical Communications)

Summary / Heading
A growing healthcare marketing agency is looking for a Senior Account Manager to assume responsibility for a range of busy accounts working across a variety of medical education and marketing materials in the areas of oncology, diabetes and rare diseases. The SAM will be the main point of contact for clients and responsibilities will include leading team meetings, taking responsibility for budgets and timelines and making proactive and confident decisions.

You will be utilising effective project management skills to manage timelines, arrange meetings and drive all account processes so experience and confidence in problem solving and managing internal and external collaborators is key. Excellent organisational skills and a strong attention to detail is crucial.

This account will involve a range of marketing and medical education materials and events large pharma clients so experience with similar accounts would be ideal. This is a growing agency (30% growth in the last 12 months) so there will be lots of opportunities to get involved with pitches and business development activities, with the potential to develop and grow the team within the next six months.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a strong Account Manager (AM) looking for a step up, or an established Senior Account Manager (SAM) looking for a change, to be part of a supportive team in a flourishing MedComms agency, taking control of the management of a varied and exciting account.

Up to 50k (dependent on experience)

This diverse role will offer someone the chance to work on a variety of materials and therapy areas with the opportunity to grow and develop the accounts and teams.

Role / Description
Main Job Responsibilities:
Taking responsibility for the day-to-day of your assigned accounts.
Developing strong relationships with client team members.
Forecasting budgets and timelines and ensuring these are met.
Taking client brief and writing creative brief for internal teams.
Delivering client presentations and leading client meetings.
Actively driving account growth by supporting new business activity.
Building effective relationships with external suppliers.
Supporting team members including other client services and writing colleagues.

Candidate Requirements:
Life Sciences degree (preferred, not essential if relevant experience).
Three years plus accounts experience within medical communications either in an agency or pharma company.
An understanding of the industry local and international regulations.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Excellent presentation skills.
Effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Proven business development skills.
Strong attention to detail and high organizational skills.
