A highly motivated individual is sought to work within this team orientated group. The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Leading and managing a small team
  • The development of stable lentiviral vector producer cell lines and the screening of resulting producer clones
  • An automated platform for the high throughput selection and screening of cell lines
  • The development and optimisation of lentiviral vector production
  • The characterisation of lentiviral vector for advancement to preclinical studies
  • Other activities within the Research Department

Key Tasks

  • Management of team members
  • Cell line engineering for the development of new cell lines for the production of lentiviral vector products
  • Extensive cell culture
  • Molecular biology techniques
  • LV analytics
  • Organisation of parallel projects/activities
  • Support other members of both the CEG team and wider Platform Research Department as required

Required Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications

  • Post-doctoral/Industry experience in a relevant Biological Science subject
  • Line management experience is essential
  • Relevant lab technical experience with particular emphasis on Molecular Biology, Tissue Culture and PCR-based techniques
  • Line management experience would be an advantage
  • Demonstrable excellent lab-based skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills


  • Experience with automation in the laboratory
  • Experience with communicating and interaction with third party clients/collaborators/partners
  • Experience working in a commercial/industry setting is preferred
  • Experience with cell culture automation systems would be an advantage
  • Good intuition & problem solving skills
