For more information, visit   Description   PPD are currently looking for a Finance Manager on a permanent basis to join our Operations Finance team on the financial controls side.   The Operations Finance group is responsible for the financial management and accounting of all 2000 Global Clinical Development (GCD) trials that the organisation runs. Within Operations finance there are two core functions – Project Delivery (who manage the day to day finances of the trials) and Financial Controls. The Financial Control group are responsible for:-
  1. The accounting and analysis of the key financials which are produced from the Operations Finance group; especially focusing on Revenue and key Balance Sheet entries
  2. The processes and controls under which the Operations Finance group operates
  3. Acting as the liaison for both internal & external audit
  This exciting role is based in our EMEA regional headquarters in Cambridge. As a Finance Manager you will be responsible for a team of Finance Analysts, ensuring your team manages P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations within appropriate deadlines. Responsibilities include recruitment, training and development of staff, leading, mentoring and coaching, assessing the team’s workload and allocating work accordingly. The role will report into an Associate Director, Operations Finance EMEA.   This position may involve some limited travel.   Duties and Responsibilities   ·         This role requires cross functional collaboration across the business ·         Working within our month end close schedule, ensuring timely & accurate postings into our monthly financial statements ·         Assisting with both internal & external audit requirements ·         This role involves line management responsibilities including the day to day direction of staff,   recruitment of new staff, training and development of your team and performance management    


Qualifications, skills & knowledge

  • 5 years PQE ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent qualification
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines, to prioritise workload and to organise competing priorities logically
  • Ability to plan and ensure team delivers quality end product against constant time pressures
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to use initiative as appropriate
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written and oral communication) with team members and with all levels within the company
  • Proven ability to be flexible in a fast moving and challenging environment
  • MS Office skills particularly MS Excel
  • Significant experience of Balance Sheet and P&L management
  • Proven experience of managing small teams.
  • Will have held a similar reporting position in a service industry or have demonstrated competence in previous roles
