Brandon Whates at CK Clinical is recruiting for a Resource & Vendor Manager to join a pharmaceutical company at their site based in Welwyn on a permanent basis.

The Company:
Our client is globally renowned pharmaceutical company with their UK Pharmaceutical Head Office situated in Welwyn, Hertfordshire. The site is accessible by motorways & airports as well as being a 30 minute train ride to London, access is easy. There are well over 1000 people occupying their site in Welwyn.

The Role:
As Resource & Vendor Manager, you will responsible for defining and leading the UK strategy for sourcing & resourcing. You will be accountable for ensuring that local vendors and their staff are overseen, qualified and able to deliver according to the service agreements in place. Your role is integral in the CCO FSP Operating model as the CCO UK Lead, accountable for the successful delivery of an effective and efficient relationship with strategic partners.

Accountable for resource management in CCO-UK, you will work closely with the Country Clinical Operation Leads (CCOL), Study Start Up Manager (SSUM) & Resourcing SPOC within the FSP model to ensure headcount requirements across the department are forecasted and managed. You will lead resourcing discussions at study & portfolio level across early & late phase work, ensuring the existing resourcing principals are embedded. You will work closely with finance to translate resource requirements, in turn helping shape the functional budget, including leading budget rounds, presenting finalised budget to Country & Regional Clinical Operations Head.

As both Resource & Vendor Manager, you will be able to take insights from both roles, and translate resourcing decisions effectively to our vendors, whilst acting as the SPOC for our vendors and understanding the impact of issues on the wider business, informing relevant stakeholders as appropriate.
Using your passion to achieve results, you will be reviewing and analysing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics against benchmarks for resourcing, productivity and local vendors, working with a variety of roles to lead corrective and preventive measures to improve performance.

As the Resource & Vendor Manager, it is critical that you are able to champion outsourcing models such as the CCO FSP model. You are able to facilitate and lead both internal and external staff in productive discussions, acting as an impartial party where needed to ensure quality, compliance and delivery. Your previous experience of working with procurement and collaborating with CROs will enable you to help implement service agreements and contracts, as well as periodically review provisions with the Regional Vendor Manager and Country Study Managers (CSM) and suggest improvements as needed.

As a member of the CCO-UK Management Team, you will you will provide high quality leadership, management, functional expertise and coaching to ensure that your team of Country Clinical Study Associates (CCSA) work efficiently & effectively to support CCO-UK, providing the necessary training and guidance where appropriate. Through your strong leadership and management, you will deploy the appropriate resources to support the portfolio across a number of tasks, including project plans, finance & contracts.

You will participate in and take responsibility in global or local networks & initiatives related to the development of the organisation and its people.

Your Background:
With a degree in a medical field or similar equivalent, you're someone with expert knowledge in the field of clinical development and vendor oversight. Able to effectively convey ideas and information to colleagues in a clear fashion, you'll be a skilled communicator who can factor the varied requirements of the clinical development environment into strategic decision making. Innovative and flexible, you'll bring good general business acumen grounded in a deep understanding of clinical trials, service provider oversight & process improvement.
