We have a new opening for the position of Clinical Research Associate (CRA) in our Start Up team based at our Johannesburg office in South Africa. This is a Fixed Term contract for a period of 6 months.

You will be primarily involved in start-up of clinical trials conducted in South Africa as part of international projects. You should thrive in multi-national project teams and be focused on delivering exemplary levels of customer service.

With a life sciences degree or nursing qualification and experience of Phase II to IV trials, you will have good understanding of EU and local regulations and ICH GCP requirements.

You will have extensive CRA experience, including experience of start-up.

Main duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Identify potential investigators in collaboration with the client company to ensure the acceptability of qualified investigative sites.
  • Perform pre-study (evaluation) visits at sites in South Africa
  • Act as a key site contact on a country level for start-up related activities and provide oversight for projects
  • Prepare regulatory compliance review packages as needed
  • Support the coordination of feasibility activities in accordance with guidelines


Qualifications and Experience:
  • University degree in a health/science-related field will be an advantage or certified health care training or equivalent experience
  • Experience and high level of competency as a Clinical Research Associate
  • Experience with pre-study visits and start-up activities
  • Fluent in English
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Customer focus
