Purpose of the role:

Working within clinical data management systems and programming tools under direct supervision to provide programming support in data management activities and deliverables including, but not limited to, database development and data validations.   Works within a multi-disciplanry project team to complete assigned tasks on time and within budget.  Communicates effectively with manager and project team.

Currently, we are expanding our Clinical Data Management team in Sofia. We are looking for a:

Data Management Programmer

Main Responsibilities:

With supervision and guidance can participate in performing the following within the timelines established by the team, in accordance with the process outlined in the departmental procedures and indicated by the project  contract: 

•  Design, build and test project database in CDMS
•  Ddesign, build and test project edit checks in CDMS
•  Define and import data into CDMS
•  Define, create and test listings for data review
• Actively seeks information to gain good understanding of the role of the DM Programmer in the overall process.
• Increases knowledge base and professional skills in areas including programming and technology.


  Education and Experience: 
  • BA/BS degree in computer science, statistics, biostatistics, mathematics or related field. MA/MS degree is desirable
  • Previous clinical research or related experience
  • Must have database management, SAS or PL/SQL programming experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages
  • Understanding of relational data base structure and experience working with complex data systems
  • Experience demonstrating a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving and innovative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
  • Ability to independently and effectively organize and manage multiple assignments with challenging timelines
  • Ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated positive attitude, enthusiasm toward work, and the ability to work well with others
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative and motivation
