Short Description
Egg Harbor Multispecialty is a practice that was recently acquired by Cooper University Health Care.
This practice has historically operated on a non-Epic EMR, along with use of paper-charts.
In an effort to standardize and optimize practice operations, the medical-practice will go-live on Epic EMR effective 11/15/2023.
The role of Data Abstractor will be used to effectively and efficiently transcribe and abstract clinical and clerical data from the historical medical records and EMR and move it to Epic EMR.
Data Management
Data Transcription
Data Abstraction
Generalized understanding of medical terminology and application of said terminology through effective and efficient transcription practices
Prioritization of appropriate medical records through recognizing greater need (appt. time, provider recommendation)
Interprets data results using analysis and data mining.
Compiles reports on key patient data and identifies potential exclusions.
Enters and updates client level data in computerized software and generates reports as requested.
Maintenance of database/record of all transcribed and abstracted medical records
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations
Experience Required
0-1 year Data Management, Data Transcription, Data Abstraction
Education Requirements
High School / GED Required
Degree majoring in Information Technology, Healthcare, Nursing or Computer Science or 2 or more years applicable experience is acceptable in place of a degree
Special Requirements
We are seeking assertive and highly motivated candidates with the following qualifications:
GPA 3.0 or higher; ACT scores of 26 or higher or SAT scores of 1100 or higher
