Research Scientist

Proclinical is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist to join the Protein Expression & Purification Department at a biopharmaceutical company. In this role, you will focus on the expression and purification of various recombinant proteins, including integral membrane proteins, for structural studies. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to drug discovery projects.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the expression and purification of recombinant proteins, including multi-pass membrane proteins, for structural studies.
• Communicate effectively within the protein group and across multiple disciplines, ensuring clear relay of work progress, technical issues, and potential solutions.
• Stay updated with and implement new technologies in protein expression and purification, particularly for recombinant proteins including multi-pass membrane proteins.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Proficiency with insect and mammalian cell expression systems.
• Independence in purification techniques such as affinity chromatography, ion exchange, SEC, and HIC.
• Extensive experience with AKTA purification platforms and associated software.
• Strong knowledge of software for manipulating protein and DNA sequences (e.g., VNTI) and molecular visualization of proteins (e.g., PyMOL).
• Excellent understanding of the literature on generating recombinant proteins, including multi-pass membrane proteins, for structural studies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
