Job Description:

As our French Launch Lead, you will be responsible for leading the successful launch of our new biologic product in France. This position involves developing the launch strategy, leading the launch team, collaborating with local and international colleagues, upskilling the commercial team, especially around the skillset required for launching a biologic treatment, executing marketing initiatives, managing KOL relationships, and driving the growth and market presence of our product.

This is a critical leadership role that will oversee the first biologic launch for the company.

Key responsibilities:

Prelaunch responsibilities:
  • Overall Launch Strategy and Planning: Lead the execution of the launch strategy and comprehensive plans for our product in France, considering market dynamics, competitive landscape, and patient needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Lead dedicated marketing team for France.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Facilitate effective collaboration and coordination among various functions involved in the launch, such as marketing, medical affairs, regulatory, and market access. Ensure alignment on objectives, activities, and messaging, and promote cross-functional teamwork and communication.
  • Launch Execution and Monitoring: Oversee the implementation of launch activities and ensure their timely execution, tracking progress against the plan. Monitor key performance indicators, analyze market trends, and identify potential risks or opportunities, making necessary adjustments to optimize the launch strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and build relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, key opinion leaders. Collaborate with medical affairs to develop and implement KOL engagement strategies and educational initiatives.
  • Market Insights and Competitive Intelligence: Gather and analyze market insights, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to inform the launch strategy and identify areas for differentiation. Stay up-to-date with market trends, treatment guidelines, and competitor activities to ensure a competitive positioning for our product.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with finance team to develop and manage the launch budget effectively. Monitor expenses, track financial performance, and ensure appropriate allocation of resources to achieve launch objectives.
  • Communication and Reporting: Work with the local and the global team on the launch progress, challenges, and achievements through regular updates and reports. Provide clear and concise communication to cross-functional teams, senior management, and other stakeholders regarding launch activities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks or obstacles that may impact the launch success and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively address issues, resolve conflicts, and escalate concerns when necessary.


Post Launch responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and plans for the biologic franchise post-launch, ensuring alignment with business objectives and targets.
  • Collaborate with international colleagues to provide input on global strategies, share best practices, and participate in international marketing meetings:
  • Implement pilot projects to explore new opportunities and optimize marketing activities within the franchise.
  • Support market research projects and utilize insights to refine marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Monitor and control sales performance, costs, and market trends, making data-driven decisions to drive franchise growth.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and control of marketing activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and ethical standards.
  • Conduct market and competition analyses to identify market trends, opportunities, and threats, and develop strategies to stay competitive.
  • Initiate and implement market research projects to gather insights on customer needs, preferences, and market dynamics.
  • Collaborate with external service providers and agencies to develop and execute marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Plan and execute physician events, symposia, and educational activities to engage healthcare professionals and build relationships.
  • Manage key opinion leader (KOL) relationships, including engagement, collaboration, and leveraging their expertise to drive brand awareness.
  • Create and deliver presentations on our product to internal stakeholders, healthcare professionals, and at conferences.
  • Lead, promote, and develop team members within the franchise marketing team.
  • Review the implementation of marketing strategies in the field sales team in close collaboration with sales management and regional sales managers.


Skills & Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in marketing / commercial functions
  • Experience with launching biologics products is required; dermatology / immunology knowledge would be ideal
  • Extensive cross-functional experience required, proven track record of collaboration and coordination with key internal and external stakeholders (including external agency partners)
  • Proficient in English, MS Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Availability to travel >50% time
