Market Access Pricing and reimbursement leader - Nordics & UK
  • Role can be based in any Nordic country
  • 3 days per week onsite in the country

The role

This position is responsible for leading the Pricing and Market Access team overseeing access and reimbursement within the Nordic Hub for Oncology, Autoimmune, and Neurology. The role involves managing a team within the MA to facilitate team development and performance. It requires considering external and therapeutic area knowledge to develop an optimal payer strategy, including crafting strategic initiatives, payer materials, and AAPs.

You would support local Market Access, HTA and Health Outcomes teams in reimbursement dossier submissions. Assisting in implementing payer strategies and identifying national access targets.

The position will be influential in ensuring the market access strategy for the brand is aligned so will require cross functional working with all Market Access departments internally as well as Medical, Marketing, sales, and other functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify future payer customer needs, constraints, and requirements affecting the therapeutic area.
  • Understand the local patient and treatment pathways relevant to the therapeutic area and brand.
  • Bring external insights into the business unit, providing clear and concise intelligence pertinent to the brand/therapeutic area.
  • Stay updated on developments from NHS, NICE, and other reimbursement bodies across the Nordic countries.
  • Develop Payer Value proposition and strategy aligned with business objectives for the brand/therapeutic area, in collaboration with the wider office, field-based PRA team, and cross-functional teams.
  • Influence brand forecasts, MOTs, and customer objectives by integrating payer and market access constraints into customer planning.
  • Ensure communication of the payer strategy across the organization and monitor and adjust the payer strategy according to new insights and external/internal changes.
  • Manage HTA submissions across the Nordic countries and the UK.
  • Create specific payer materials, AAPs, and programs beyond the product to facilitate strategic initiatives within compliance boundaries.
  • Collaborate with the HO team to ensure alignment in developing health economic payer materials.
  • Develop customized messages, tactics, and MCE programs for key payer/segment accounts.
  • Ensure proper utilization of payer materials and programs with payer customers.
  • Collaborate with field-based teams to understand account dynamics and local priorities, providing strategy and support to achieve access goals or overcome access barriers.
  • Collaborate with relevant Regional Business Managers, providing insights and support to local sales teams for enhancing market access.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all payer-related activities within the therapeutic area and ensure alignment of the overall payer strategy with the brand plan.
  • Collaborate with local VAMs and local PRAs to address payer needs in specific locations and represent the MA function in the Nordic leadership team, offering a comprehensive perspective across the Nordics.


Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience leading Market Access activities across the Nordics and UK markets within Pharma.
  • Experience in engaging stakeholders at regional and national levels and successfully delivering Partnership Projects.
  • Previous leadership / people management experience coaching, developing, and building a team of people.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK market and NHS policies / processes including NICE.
  • approach encompassing both internal (Key Account Management) and external (Payer Customers) stakeholders.
  • Previous experience leading product launches
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally as part of a wider team
  • Fluent in English and a Nordic Language.
