Job Summary:

As an RFI Writer I, you are a key member of the Global Commercial Operations/Sales Support team; developing, writing, and finalizing responses to client and prospect RFIs and similar documents (eg, pre-selling documents). You coordinate the interaction between Business Development (BD) and key business leaders within ICON, collecting the most pertinent and strategic content for RFIs. You also develop and manage content within our RFI Content Library.

Job Description:

Directs the development of RFIs and similar documents (eg, pre-selling documents) primarily for ICON Corporate services and core service lines within ICON Pharma Solutions and ICON Biotech Solutions, while receiving training to lead RFIs in other service areas. Works under direct supervision of other team members during the first 3-6 months and as they receive training in new service lines, as appropriate. Contributes to the development of strategic partnership RFIs/RFPs with guidance from senior team members and/or the Business Information (BI) management team.

• Leads and coordinates the RFI process, which encompasses organizing and running effective and efficient meetings with account executives, VPs, operational owners, and other key managers and ICON SMEs.

• Writes, compiles, and edits contributions to RFI content, ensuring accuracy and “one voice”.

• Seeks and coordinates input from various SMEs to obtain responses for RFI questions, ultimately acting as a project manager for the deliverable.

• Interacts with BD staff to form optimal responses to RFI questions, based on BD’s knowledge of the client/prospect.

• Coordinates RFI content library updates during RFI closeout in a timely manner.

Coordinates RFI Content Library updates and acts as the “owner” for documents (eg, internal RFI fact sheets and pre-sells) in up to 5 corporate areas and/or service lines. Acts as an expert within the BI team, while proactively and independently building knowledge of the respective area, providing strategic input to discussions and meetings with respective teams. Proactively builds and maintains effective relationships with respective teams/SMEs.

Provides recommendations to enhance our team’s processes.

Performs other tasks as requested by the BI team.

What do you need?
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution or international equivalent- preferred
  • 1-3 years of professional writing experience preferred, including:
  • Experience using computerized information systems and standard application software (ie, Windows, MS Office)
  • Experience with Visio and SharePoint preferred
  • Must read, write, and speak fluent English
  • To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the UK, Ireland or Bulgaria and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status
