Oxford Biomedica’s Engineering team are responsible for all aspects of Plant, Mechanical, Electrical, and Incoming utilities at our facilities.

 

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer to ensure maximum equipment availability, assume ownership of critical asset incidents, coordination with resolution parties, and maintain effective communication between stakeholders for post-incident analysis.


Your responsibilities in this role would be:

  • To personally lead diagnostic activities relating complex equipment faults, liaising internally and externally as required.
  • Management of OXB’s external engineering resource in relationship to specialist repairs and maintenance of assets.
  • Accountable for verifying and implementing effective maintenance and calibration activities across different asset types.
  • Hands on completion of planned and reactive maintenance and calibration activities complete with associated documentation.
  • Provide support for implementation of new technology, assets, processes, and products across the business.
  • Co-ordinate engineering activities across multiple sites to ensure best practice, highlighting risks and differences. 
  • Maintain a safety-first approach to assets and engineering procedures. 
  • Maintain awareness of industry technology advancements driving OXB engineering to the forefront of the industry. 
  • Identify, lead, and embed engineering process improvements.

 


Profile description:

 

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

 

 

  • A minimum of HNC (OFQUAL LEVEL 4 or equivalent) in a related Engineering discipline and/or the equivalent work experience in a regulatory environment.
  • Advanced electro-mechanical knowledge of complex equipment with proven hands-on experience in technical fault finding and rectification.
  • Demonstratable ability to own, understand and resolve complex equipment problems.
  • Ability to constructively challenge established ways of working and propose alternatives.
  • Experience of influencing, coaching and mentoring others
  • Able to use majority of Microsoft Office suite software.
  • Proven experience within a GxP Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry is preferred.
  • Experience in the introduction of new technology, and production processes is preferred.
