Due to internal progression, we are looking for an Equipment Support Technician for our Environmental Fate and Metabolism department at our site in Alconbury, Huntingdon.

The role is primarily office based and is responsible for monitoring the routine servicing and maintenance of laboratory equipment in compliance with GLP and HSE regulations. Other duties include radioactive contamination monitoring of laboratory areas and equipment disposal. The position requires the ability to work as part of a team in a commercial environment with practical and organisational skills required to meet customer expectations in quality and timing.

The successful candidate will have a flexible working attitude with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities include:
  • Performing routine calibration of laboratory equipment which includes but is not limited to: Pipettes and thermometers
  • Monitoring maintenance of laboratory equipment - type of equipment includes but is not limited to: balances, centrifuges, radioactivity measurement equipment, cryomicrotomes, pH meters, sample oxidisers, spectrophotometers, controlled temperature storage units, incubators, water purification units
  • Liaising with with Asset Management
  • Upkeep of records, system labelling and coordination of engineer appointments
