Job Details

My client, one of Ireland’s leading laboratory suppliers, is currently recruiting for a Senior Applications Specialist to join their team. This position will work in the area of Pathology, particularly Histology.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide fast and professional first line technical support to Customers. The preparation of material for Customer demonstrations and training.
  • Provide Customer training and demonstrations of designated products. Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team in the promotion of designated products.
  • Demonstration and participation in Clinical sessions with Medical Laboratory Scientists and Pathologists etc. Reagent optimisation as requested by Customers.
  • Handle Customer complaints and inquiries in collaboration with the Sales and Engineering teams.
  • Log customer complaints as part of the company’s Quality Management Procedure
  • Attendance at local and international training, congresses and meetings. Attendance at sales meetings, and preparation of presentations, when required.
  • Attendance at Application Specialist training events at our supplier sites in Europe.
  • Coordinate and manage assigned training demonstrations with the sales team and your Manager.
  • Ensure European/Global guidelines and best practice are adopted and adhered to.
  • To keep abreast of and assimilate your knowledge of new technologies and techniques.

 

Experience, Education & Skills Required

  • Min. BSc Degree in science ideally in molecular biology and experience working in a Histology lab (minimum 3 years experience) Must have have good understanding and experience in Pathology Workflow, Staining and Immunohistochemistry Techniques.
  • Experience and/or a good knowledge of Molecular techniques would be an advantage. Must have full clean driving licence Strong Communication and Presentation Skills is an essential requirement. General IT skills would be an advantage. A good level of Business understanding would also be an advantage.
