In the role as a skilled Business Consultant, you will act as a liaison between Research and IT, shaping the future of NME Drug Design and crafting effective, efficient technical solutions for our global partners.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • As Business Consultant you will be part of an innovative product team, working in a scientific environment with agile processes in close collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Leverage your deep understanding of business processes, you will act as key contact for our business partners in Computational Chemistry & Structural Research within MedChem (Medicinal Chemistry).
  • Your role will involve defining the IT system landscape and roadmap as well as steering digital innovation to maintain a competitive edge in the field of computational chemistry.
  • You will influence IT-related business decisions through a consistent and direct engagement of local and global clients at all levels in the required business domain.
  • As the key contact for assigned business partners, you will act as a vital interface, collaborating with internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SME) to ensure alignment and smooth communication.
  • Furthermore, you will record and manage business priorities and hold end-2-end responsibility for its delivery.
  • As an expert for existing applications and systems and underlying architecture you will coordinate system related tasks within IT, business and vendors for Linux System. This includes development, maintenance, support and troubleshooting for Linux System.



Requirements


  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent and several professional experience in an interface role between business and IT
  • Experience with computational science or chemistry is a plus
  • Strong background in Linux administration, our HPC environment, container and cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, EDP/Openshift) as well as backend engineering skills (e.g. programming, scripting, DB technologies)
  • Creative mindset and analytical skills to develop innovative solutions and keen to get a deep understanding of business processes within the MedChem with focus on Computational Chemistry and Structural Research
  • Team player and networker with intercultural skills with a solution-oriented working behavior and the ability to negotiate and convince others, even in a larger group of stakeholders
  • Experience to deal with complex interdependent tasks in a global fast-moving and agile environment
  • Very good presentation and communication skills at professional level in English (verbally and in writing), German skills would be a plus as the most of your partners are in Germany and Austria
