Looking for a researcher interested in performing cellular assays in the Molecular Oncology field

Researcher In Vitro Pharmacology

Byondis is an independent Dutch biopharmaceutical company, based in Nijmegen, that focuses on developing innovative medicines against cancer and autoimmune diseases. We are driven by one goal: to develop new treatments to improve the standard of care for patients.

Our In Vitro Pharmacology department is part of the Byondis research organization and is mainly responsible for early stage development of our biopharmaceutical pipeline. Early stage development involves in vitro research to identify the potency, selectivity and mechanism of action of new compounds in cellular assays. These biological effects are studied in cell lines and primary cells using different techniques. In the current positions you will focus on new therapeutic strategies.

As a Researcher you will primarily be responsible for the execution and (help in) design of research studies for one or more projects in the field of oncology and immuno-oncology. You will develop, optimize and run cell-based assays to profile small molecules, antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). Since research relies on team-work, you will closely work in a team of principal investigators, researchers and research technicians. We aim to expand our team with a highly-motivated  experienced researcher, preferably with experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Your profile

  • A bachelor or master degree in life science or equivalent. PhDs will not be considered for these positions
  • >5 years of relevant experience in molecular oncology and cell biology, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • You require proven affinity with in vitro translational and/or molecular oncology research.
  • Eager to set-up and run cellular assays to profile small molecules, antibodies and/or ADCs.
  • Hands-on experience in cell culture.
  • Practical skills in standard molecular oncology lab techniques, e.g. flowcytometry and viability assays.

Skills/ Capabilities

  • Teamwork-focused with good  verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Effective time-management skills, ability to meet challenging deadlines.
  • An open mindset with a flexible and pragmatic approach.
  • Strong analytical skills, driven by quality and results.
  • Capability to analyze data and report results and conclusions in electronic lab journals

We aim to create an engaging and collaborative environment for all of our employees. We also offer an excellent pension scheme, 30 days of annual leave based on a full-time position, and we host several exciting company events throughout the year.
