Job Details

Due to continued expansion into Europe, this US based specialist clinical services group are seeking an experienced Business Development professional to join them and be based in the UK.

You will be working within an expanding and very successful BD team focused on selling services supporting late phase clinical trials.

Your primary activity will be on customer acquisition (identifying, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business) from existing and new client accounts (across Biotechnology AND Pharmaceutical groups). The given client portfolio will be balanced with existing clients as well as target groups within it's scope.

Key responsibilities:

* Identifies, qualifies, and secures new business opportunities.

* Maintains database of existing and prospective client information and communications.

* Screens potential business deals by analysing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities.

* Builds business relationships with current and potential clients

* Creates and delivers information to potential clients at client meetings, industry exhibits, trade shows, and conferences

* Ensure project scope and timelines are well understood across the internal landscape

* Initiate the internal RFI, RFP, SOW process and see through to completion

* Own capabilities presentations and bid defences

* Develop and negotiate contracts.

* Collaborates with sales and leadership from various in-house business units to maximise product offering and to secure, retain, and grow accounts.

Some national and international travel will be required including potential overnight stays.

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelors degree in a scientific subject
  • Proven experience of B2B sales from within the clinical research services market
  • Full sales process knowledge (from lead to close)
  • A passion for science and technology
