THE POSITION


As newest member of CBD Finance & Group Functions Global Facilities & Engineering (GFE) bundles EHS, Security, Real Estate & Facility Management and Engineering globally, striving to serve BI’s site network as strong infrastructure and business partner.

Global CAPEX Management is accountable for all big CAPEX projects worldwide.

As part of the Global CAPEX Project Management Team, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the successful management of big CAPEX Projects (> EUR 50M).

Tasks & responsibilities


  • The Senior Project Manager is accountable for delivering large (>EUR 50M) global and strategic important projects on time, within budget and according to specifications.
  • You lead and guide big capital investment projects during all project phases and in the different areas of technology (e.g., Bio, API).
  • You are responsible for effective cost control, change management and communications within the project team and develop and align project goals and execution strategy.
  • Utilizing your expertise, you focus on organizing, preparing and issuing the project procedures and specific plans as required for project execution, ensuring that the project team is performing in accordance with the agreed standards and requirements.
  • Furthermore, you are responsible for organizing and conducting an effective communication with the relevant stakeholder, primarily Steering Committee and the relevant Business unit partner.
  • You ensure execution quality during all project phases considering environmental protection, occupational safety and GMP compliance until successful completion and acceptance of project deliverables.
  • In addition, you define and develop the project organization and ensures needed resources are on-boarded timely and support the development of the BI organization in respect to introduction of industry best practices.



Requirements


  • Degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc. / B. Sc.) or equivalent (mechanical / process / chemical or equivalent
  • Longterm engineering experience thereof and thereof experience in big (>EUR 50M) investment projects in international environment
  • Excellent project management skills and expertise of Big CAPEX projects as well as long-standing and proven professional experience as a Project Manager Engineering in global, strategic projects in the life science and pharmaceutical industry
  • Good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry not limited to technical aspects only
  • Good understanding of EHS and Quality aspects in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP/GLP regulations, ICH, FDA CMC, ISPE and PDA Guidance Documents is preferred
  • Experience in big CAPEX projects in international environment
  • Broad Leadership experience for the management of internal and external resources in international environment
  • Well-developed communication skills, able to present to Senior Management
  • Fluent in English (writing and speaking)
  • High willingness to travel and relocate
