Job Overview

Performing maintenance and mechanical duties ranging in responsibility from preventative maintenance and repair activities, troubleshooting equipment failures and ability to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility in a cGMP chemical facility.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment failure.
  • Diagnoses problems and repairs malfunctioning rotating equipment.
  • Measure, cut, fit and assemble threaded, welded and glued joint pipe.
  • Replace appropriate pump and agitator seals.
  • Unload bulk liquids from tank trucks.
  • Responsible for maintenance of all equipment control systems plant wide.
  • Take readings, test steam chemicals, operate and maintain boilers in steam plant.
  • Oversee maintenance and operation of cooling towers, fire protection, WFI and other utility operating systems.
  • Complete set ups, as required.
  • Complete own line entry, hot work and confined space permits.
  • Implement lubrication and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Welding repair and fabrication work as needed.
  • Minor piping insulation work as needed.
  • Assist with installation of new equipment.
  • Perform minor instrument calibrations as needed.
  • Assist with weekend and holiday perimeter security.
  • Responsible for monitoring operational status of emergency generator.
  • Ability to utilize the CMMS to locate spare parts I Maintenance Stores area.
  • Occasional activities relating to departmental goals, not specifically detailed in this section.

Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements

  • Must be able to wear a respirator (training is provided)
  • Must be able to work in confined space (training is provided)
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to do overhead work, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
