OUR COMPANY

At Boehringer Ingelheim we develop breakthrough therapies and innovative healthcare solutions in areas of unmet medical need for both humans and animals. As a family owned company, we focus on long-term performance. We believe that, if we have talented and ambitious people who are passionate about innovation, there is no limit to what we can achieve; after all, we started with just 28 people. Now, we are powered by 50,000 employees globally who nurture a diverse, collaborative and inclusive culture.

THE POSITION

Ensuring safety of drug candidates in nonclinical development is our primary concern. Cell-based in vitro methods play an important role for this task during the entire R&D process.

The development and implementation of complex in vitro models based on flow technologies that mimic organ physiology promises deeper insight into toxicity mechanisms of compound-related adverse effects. These Organs on a chip (OoC)/ Microphysiological Systems (MPS) furthermore raise hope to reduce animal numbers for toxicity testing significantly.

This exciting novel scientific area relies on enthusiastic, open-minded scientists with deep cell culture experience combined with the affinity for technological challenges.

If you would like to play an active role bringing this scientific area forward, then join the Cellular Toxicology Laboratory. The Laboratory is part of the Nonclinical Drug Safety department at the largest R&D campus of Boehringer Ingelheim, in Biberach an der Riss, Germany .
