Sr. Data & DevOps Engineer - Oracle

If you are an Oracle DBA with experience in cloud platforms, this job may be for you! This role will work collaboratively, focusing on the company’s growing Oracle estate of databases, installing and maintaining the database software, setting up user accounts, managing the backup strategy and regularly maintaining database security. Note : Its an fully remote working role with some occasional business travel requirements. Due to job requirements, the applicants needs to be based across any of one of these geographies UK, Ireland, France, Germany or Netherlands.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Installing and maintaining Oracle database software.
  • Creating storage database structures with high-level security features.
  • Altering storage structures to meet the evolving needs of the company.
  • Setting up database user accounts.
  • Finding and debugging malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity.
  • Creating autonomous database backups.
  • Regularly updating database security protocols.
  • Good understanding of Oracle running in the cloud with IaaS and PaaS services
  • Experience with Big Data Technology Stack: Hadoop/Spark/Hive/MapR
  • Experience with Big Data Management (BDM) for relational and non-relational data (formats like json, xml, avro, parquet, copybook, etc.)
  • Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure, Databases, Storage, Databricks, Azure Data Factory

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science.
  • Proven work experience as a Database administrator.
  • Familiarity with Oracle database design, coding, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and API.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Oracle.
  • Experience in ETL design, development, and performance tuning in general.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving ability
  • Great presentation skills
  • Interface with key customers from all functional areas - Analytic skills are needed
