About this job:

As Medical Scientific Liaison - Oncology, you will be responsible for gathering data from the field that generates medical insights and become a trusted advisor for scientific exchange to Key External Experts (KEEs) and stakeholders throughout the product life cycle.

You will be playing a vital role in the organization by developing relationships and engaging in scientific exchange, strengthening the positioning of the products and cooperating with colleagues from other departments as well. You will split your time working in the field and home-office/office.

As a Medical Scientific Liaison you will:

  • Engage in scientific exchange in which knowledge about product(s), disease(s) and therapeutic areas is shared to ensure safe and effective use of Astellas products and engage in discussions regarding evolving trends in disease state management, trends in therapy.
  • Provide Astellas with actionable scientific, medical and competitive insights and intelligence gained during scientific exchange and assess possible impact on Astellas initiatives.
  • Maintain medical and scientific knowledge and staying current to enable peer-to-peer scientific exchange. This can include, but not be limited to, attendance to medical/scientific congresses, evaluate relevant scientific literature, and complete continuous education and self-learning courses.
  • Identify Key External Experts (KEE) in alignment with Medical Strategy and develop and maintain professional relationships with KEE. Providing support to and engage in scientific exchange with KEE.
  • In Research support, identify investigators and recommending sites for Medical Affairs and/or Development sponsored studies and engage with Investigators about their research capabilities as appropriate.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or in the medical field (e.g. Medical Affairs, Product Management, Clinical Research or Academia)
  • Proven experience in Oncology or related therapeutic areas
  • Team player but also able to work independently

Preferred Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (MD, PhD in health related science or PharmD)

Education/Qualifications:

  • Master degree in Health related Science
  • Business-fluent English

Additional information:

  • Permanent contract.
  • Location: Based in Emilia Romagna, this position covers also Marche and Toscana. This is considered a field position.
