THE POSITION

Thinking, acting, and managing globally and for the long term: as Head of our Global Category External services & BPO, you’ll define the strategy with your team. Tasks & responsibilities

• Leading an international team of category managers and operational sourcing managers, you’ll establish a long-term strategic approach for sourcing information services: ensure the implementation of innovative processes and optimal productivity, cost, and business opportunity levels.
  
• Area of responsibility within Global Sourcing Indirect Area: Consulting & Advisory, Business process outsourcing (BPO), Pharmacovigilance, Medical call centers, Medical Writing, Regulatory Affairs.
  
• You’ll coach and guide your team to develop their knowledge and skills, build close relationships with internal stakeholders at the senior management level to ensure acceptance and support for the implementation of your global strategy.
  
• With an eye always on the market and an instinct for chances, risks, costs, and channels, you’ll find new suppliers, track innovative ideas, and thus make us even more successful.
  
• You’ll join cross-functional projects as a consultant or leader, advise on make-or-buy decisions, and push sourcing projects forward - always in compliance with all relevant SOPs, laws, and both internal and external guidelines and standards.
  
• Keeping governance and KPI aspects in mind, you’ll check our key suppliers regularly and assist your team in building and maintaining strong, long-lasting supplier relationships.
  
• As the central point of contact for all questions regarding External Services & BPO, you’ll always be there for your team and for your business partners.
  

Requirements

• Master’s degree in business administration or pharmacy
  
• Consulting services and business process outsourcing services knowledge is a plus
  
• Extensive leadership experience in category management in the pharmaceutical industry - ideally on an international scale
  
• Knowledge of stakeholder management, developing business cases (as basis for make-or-buy decisions), and category management strategies
  
• Fluency in English- oral and written and German knowledge is a plus
  
• Confident, decisive, and responsible personality with leadership qualities; able to communicate respectfully, persuade, and influence others, and to find solutions for all sorts of problems
