Job Details

Hobson Prior are looking for a Head of Research to join a brilliant pharmaceutical organisation on a permanent basis with the ability to work remotely from Edinburgh. Our client is focused on assisting people in getting the information and assistance they require.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • For this role, you will handle team absences and always guarantee suitable levels of cover.
  • Guide and handle the distribution of research outputs assisting in the delivery of the company's tactical goals, exhibiting the influence of the research we perform and fund.
  • Responsible for external shareholder engagement with key research opinion leaders and company grant holders.
  • Partake in the development of and guide on execution of the company's research method and business plan.
  • Train, guide and assist the team to facilitate them to conduct the highest standards to participate towards accomplishment of company objectives and targets.
  • The ideal candidate will plan and handle the research budget.
  • Recognise suitable learning and development prospects for both individual and team development.
  • Any other assigned duties.

Requirements:

  • Educated to an advanced degree level with familiarity in a biomedical/science or pertinent health discipline.
  • Post graduate acquaintance with scientific/academic/biomedical/clinical research.
  • Prior involvement in a research management or administration role.
  • Familiarity in handling a research/multidisciplinary team.
  • Broad academic or clinical knowledge.
  • Expertise in biomedical academic/clinical research.
  • Know-how of the principles of research/grant funding.
  • Experience in medical, health related resources and settings.
  • Knowledge in health and cancer biology treatment.
  • Comprehension of the principles of efficient communication and forming relationships.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Reliability at a senior level.
  • Able to work flexible hours.
  • Willing to travel for business needs.
