QC Specialist

Hobson Prior are currently looking for a QC Specialist to join a fantastic biotech establishment on a permanent basis located in Shannon. Our client is focused on developing remedies that might have the possibility of curing those who suffer from severe illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• For this role, you will guide investigations and execute corrective action(s) when suitable.
• Offer subject matter expertise during regulatory inspections and site audits.
• Guarantee that all training is assumed in a timely fashion to conduct actions allocated.
• Uphold QC facilities to meet GMP conditions, perform required checks to assist any health authority, customer/shareholder site visits.
• Contribute to the method validation and/or technical transfer implementation when required.
• Assist with testing at external contract labs for raw resources and final product.
• You will operate and uphold lob equipment guaranteeing all equipment is calibrated and viable for use in line with test schedule.
• The ideal candidate will coach/mentor junior analysts on methods and conforming instrumentation.
• Any other assigned duties.

Requirements:

• Educated to a degree level in a scientific field such as biochemistry, chemistry, etc.
• At least 3 years of experience working within a GMP setting.
• Familiarity working with any or various of the following strategies: qPCR, HPLC, Western Blot, SDS-PAGE, DNA extraction, Spectrophotometry, etc.
• Acquaintance with mammalian cell culture and/or flow cytometry would be ideal.
• Computer literacy in MS Office applications.
• Eager to learn and curious in comprehending systems and procedures.
• Prior involvement working in a quality setting.
